Mindfulness "Mini-Retreats" for Families with Kids ages 5+

A half-day retreat for families to slow down, connect with nature, and build a mindfulness practice that lasts beyond the day. (See charlie's website for dates)

-
Who: Families (kids and adults welcome)
-
When: Sundays, 2pm-6pm

This mini-retreat is an opportunity for families to slow down, explore nature with fresh awareness, and experience mindfulness together. Through guided practices and open exploration, you’ll deepen your connection with the natural world while also gaining a simple, powerful tool—See Hear Feel—to bring mindfulness into everyday life. More than a single afternoon of meditation, this retreat helps families gain a shared language of awareness, making it easier to support each other’s mindfulness practice over the long term.
This program is built to support the ebb and flow of family energy—parents and kids can participate as much or as little as fits their needs in the moment. Best suited for kids aged 5 and up who can engage in gentle, open-ended activities in nature. Younger children are welcome, but please note that caregivers may need to support their child throughout and might not be able to fully participate in adult mindfulness segments.

Who: Child-caregiver classes

Nature is both calming and stimulating. This class utilizes brain science and how kids learn through play and applies it in the perfect environment: nature. Studies show that the development of empathy, problem-solving, persistence/grit, critical thinking and confidence are just a few of the benefits of unstructured play outside.

The Wednesday child-caregiver class includes a nature-based theme with a hands-on activity, and a circle time with songs, games, finger-plays, storybook time and more. Parents/caregivers and children both benefit from lightly-structured play, community building and nature-connection.
