Nature-based silent retreats in the Mindfulness Meditation tradition

WHAT TO EXPECT

Immersed in nature, we will be supported by time-honored practices, the presence of other practitioners, and themed readings exploring key mindfulness teachings. The majority of the day will be in guided silence, however, the day will  begin and end with optional sharing and reflection with the group.

Informed by the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, we will cycle through foundational mindfulness practices including:

​

  • Breath meditation

  • Walking meditation

  • Body scanning

  • Mindful movement (yoga)

  • Sensory meditation

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Emily Adama

Emily Adama, MSW, has been teaching mindfulness and meditation in various therapeutic and community settings since 2013. She has her Masters in Social Work in Interpersonal Practice and Mental Health from the University of Michigan and has been a dedicated meditation practitioner since 2010. See full bio here

Ari specializes in Yoga for 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) and perinatal yoga. She views the yogic traditions of embodiment and spiritual practices as a beautiful lens for healing oneself and the world.

Miriam's yoga classes draw from her training in yoga nidra, classical hatha yoga, anti-rheumatic yogaWomb Yoga, somatics and conscious dance. Her approach is informed by her extensive training in anatomy and Ayurveda.

Rob Meyer-Kukan

Rob Meyer-Kukan began his practice in 2015 as the Healthy Musician Institute, LLC, serving musicians and performing artists with repetitive strain injuries. He is a passionate educator and musician. In addition to this he is a licensed massage therapist and sound therapist. Rob is currently studying naturopathy with plans to become a Naturopathic Doctor. The suggested price is $55, however, we offer 5 price options between $35-$75 in order to reflect our values of inclusivity, affordability, and accessibility. If you are able to pay above the suggested price, this supports others who are able to pay below the suggested price. Not required to attend multiple seasons, registration and price is per retreat. BYO Lunch ~ snack and tea provided

Please pre-register online at least one week prior to each retreat. Retreats have been filling up. You will need to choose the exact date you want to pre-register for in the online booking calendar.

If you are currently experiencing clinical depression, anxiety or other acute mental health challenge, we advise you to seek support from a therapist or healthcare provider. We recommend joining us for a retreat when the worst is over and you are feeling more stable.
